Two claret coloured velvet and silk appliqué `cloths of gold' and other appliqué textile fragments 17th century and later

comprising of two red velvet and appliqué `cloths of gold', with scrolling floral and foliate motifs and spheres in cream and yellow, (gold threads distressed) (154cm. high, x 50cm. wide and 61cm. high,  x 52cm. wide); with a late 16th/early 17th century rectangular length of red velvet worked with gold thread and cut-out yellow silk overlay of scrolls and foliage (old paper underneath), with a central coat-of-arms with shield and tower, and outer metal braid (150cm. wide, 31cm. high); with an Italian, early 17th century small rectangular panel of applique yellow and white interlocking strap work and tendrils, with scrolling outer narrow border, on a red velvet ground, now mounted as a cushion with yellow diapered silk backing (52cm. x 26cm. (illustrated); an early 18th century altar panel, of cerise floral damask silk and gold braid applied altar panel, made up of four joined panels, centred by gold thread covered cream silk stylised flowering plant motifs, with a metal fringe along one length (160cm. wide, 50cm. high); an early 18th century shaped silver metal thread and polychrome silk embroidered sash, worked with exuberant flowers on a cream silk ground, together with an early 17th century small rectangular silver metal thread and polychrome silk embroidered velvet panel worked with scrolls and profile sheep heads, with braid surround (18.5cm. x 11.5cm.); a mid 17^{th century red velvet, metal thread and silk appliqué panel, worked with flowers and scrollwork with metal twisted threads edging the motifs (very distressed – old paper text print visible) (63cm. x 41cm.)
