the natural linen ground, false quilted overall in tiny yellow silk running stitches, with repeat design of palmettes, clouds, exotic blooms worked in bright silks and metal thread, together with a `bargello style’ narrow strip of tent stitch, probably English, first half 17th century, with embroidered shaped `c’-scrolls around a stem, on a beige ground (83cm. x 15cm.) and a shallow box enclosing sections of ribbon, metal-thread braid, small fragments of 18th -19th silk lampas and damask, which includes two fragments of duck-egg blue silk with silver-gilt applied floral applique (90cm. x 19cm. and 93cm. x 20cm.)
