Description
in Sheraton style, the gadrooned oval backs with fan and wheel splats over stuffed seats on fluted turned tapering legs (3) and a George III mahogany chair
Provenance
These are possibly the chairs referred to in the inventory of the contents of Broke Hall, Suffolk, dated January 1914, by Garrod, Turner & Son and listed in the drawing room as ` Three Sheraton oval back mahogany chairs in red velvet', p.8.

An identical chair to the set of three offered here is in the collection of the Victorian and Albert Museum, London and can be seen illustrated in Maurice Tomlin, Catalogue of Adam Period Furniture, Victoria and Albert Museum, p. 135, pl. P/12.
