Description

comprising of panels of embroidered pale blue and gold thread flowers in stepped running band on black felt, Tunisia, early 20th century (122cm. x 32cm. and 154cm. x 37cm.); a composite embroidered dowry panel, 18thth century/19th century, Moroccan, Fez, worked in reversible stepped running stitch with bands of green floral and foliate motifs, with metal fringe on two short sides (135cm. x 66cm.); an Ottoman panel of cream silk, circa 1800-1830 (distressed and stained) with embroidered and spangled sprigs, and outer gold coloured fringe (103cm. x 101cm.); a panel of eau-de-nil silk with cream floral embroidery (111cm. x 58cm.); a 19th century Persian machine made panel depicting small male figures, armed and some equestrian across the panel (48cm. x 37cm.); together with a Tétouan, 19th century, panel of yellow silk with floral sprays (distressed) and other fragments of green floral silk (one 68cm. x 33cm.), and three banded panels of machine silk fragments, including a sash end (66cm. x 43cm., 60cm. x 32cm. and 48cm. x 37cm.)
