This service was brought back from Russia by Emanuel Snowman, founder of the London branch of Wartskis, on one of his many visits to the Soviet Union before the last war. He pioneered trips to Russian in search of jewellery made by Carl Fabergé and other treasures confiscated by the Soviet authorities following the revolutions of 1917.
