- diameter: 24.5cm., 9¾in
the blue and gilt rim further decorated with star, the lower borders dated 1704 and 1733 beneath gilt emblems, with green Imperial cyphers for Alexander II
Catalogue Note
The service for the Cuirassier Guards Regiment was probably commissioned in 1856, the year the regiment was admitted into the Imperial Guard. It celebrates the regiment's history, the founding date 1704 is painted on one of the plates. The regiment had various honorary chief's including Peter the Great and Alexander II who became one in 1831 when he was still Tsarevich.
