the centre of the cavettos painted with black double-headed Imperial Eagles with crown, orb and sceptre, the gilt surrounds inscribed Nicholas the Emperor and Ruler of all the Russias, the border decorated with blue and green flowers on a burnished gilt ground, each with blue Imperial cyphers for Nicholas I
