Catalogue Note

The Moscow Association of Futurists (MAF) was formed in 1922 and was composed of writers with left-wing beliefs who wished to issue works on poetry and theoretical texts on language and literature. The poetry was usually composed by Mayakovsky and the prose by Kruchenykh. Its activities were superseded by the formation of LEF (Left Front for the Arts) between 1923 and 1925.
