Catalogue Note

This work was intended to accompany the Russian text of Bulychev's voyage to Iakutsk and Okhotsk, which was published in 1856. A German translation of the current work was published in 1858. The number of plates appears to vary: the printed list contains 65; Obol'ianinov 271 calls for 71, including 5 duplicates, an additional plate not called for in the printed list and the printed list itself; the British Library copy contains only 57.
