mainly in Russian, including by the Grand Dukes Mikhail Nikolayevich (4, to his daughter Anastasia), and his children Nikolai Mikhailovich (to his brother Mikhail and sister Anastasia), Aleksandr Mikhailovich (to Anastasia), and the Grand Duchess Olga Feodorovna (5, to her daughter Anastasia in French), together with a manuscript list of photographs taken from September 1914 until September 1915, describing travels, meetings, the duties of Tsar Nicolas II, together with a gilt medallion presented by Grand Duke Mikhail Mikhailovich (1861-1929) and Sophie Countess Torby

Catalogue Note
The members of the Romanov family included here are Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolayevich (1832-1909), the youngest son of Tsar Nicholas I, his wife Olga Feodorovna (1839-1891), and his children Nikolai Mikhailovich (1859-1919), and Aleksandr Mikhailovich (1866-1933), who was married to the daughter of Alexander III. Many of the letters are addressed to the daughter Anastasia (1887-1900).
