Catalogue Note

During his lifetime Nalbandian enjoyed great popularity and after his death his studio became The State Museum and House of Nalbandian.  Dmitri Nalbandian was born in 1906 in Tiflis to an Armenian family, and exhibited his artistic gifts at an early age.  In 1924 Nalbandian entered the Art Academy of Georgia where his teachers were E.E. Lancere and E.M.Tatevosian.
