Catalogue Note
The arms are those of Pitt under a Baron's coronet, probably for George Pitt of Stratfield Saye (1721-1803), created Baron Rivers in 1776 and Baron Rivers of Sudeley Castle in 1802; Lord Lieutanat of Hampshire 1780-82, Lord of the Bedchamber 1782-1803, and Lord Lieutenant of Dorset 1793-1803. He married in 1745 Penelope, sister and heir of Sir Richard Atkins, 6th Bart.
