The letter is laid into a copy of Bret Harte’s The Queen of the Pirate Isle (London, 1886), illustrated by Greenaway. This copy of the book has been embellished by the notorious forger Eugene Field II with spurious signatures of his father, Harte, Greenaway, and Mark Twain. Half brown morocco, with the original cloth covers bound in.
