The fresh, fluid handling of the present work oscillates dynamically between abstraction and figuration and is typical of Harris's attentive exploration of the subject before him whether it be landscape, water or still life. 

Born in Dublin, Harris studied at the N.C.A.D. before attending the Institute of Fine Arts, Antwerp, Belgium, where he eventually settled. He has had numerous solo exhibitions as galleries such as The Taylor Galleries, Dublin; The Gallery Danthe, Antwerp; The Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar and a retrospective at the Arts Centre Spinoy, Mechelen, Belgium.
