Catalogue Note
Born in India, Simonds-Gooding moved with her family to Kerry in 1947 where she still lives and works. She was inspired by the landscapes around her from a very early age and the lines and contours of the ancient fields and enclosures surrounding her home have proved inspirational and are reflected in the subtle textures and forms of the present work.
Having studied at the N.C.A.D, the Centre de Peinture, Brussels and the Bath Academy of Art at Corsham, Simonds-Gooding has had numerous solo exhibitions including those at the Betty Parsons Gallery, New York; The Crawford Municipal Gallery, Cork and the Taylor Galleries, Dublin.
