Sonja Landweer b.1933

Although born in Amsterdam, Landweer moved to Ireland in 1964 where she has lived and worked ever since. The present work is typical of the organic quality of her recent oeuvre blending smooth curvilinear forms with the bold abstract nature of the patination.

Landweer studied at the Amsterdam School of Industrial Design and has had numerous solo exhibitions including those at The David Hendriks Gallery, Dublin; The Taylor Galleries, Dublin; The Kapelhius, Amersfoort; The Museum of Decorative Arts, Copenhagen and The Ulster Museum, Belfast.
