Condition
The painting slightly richer, darker and less contrasted in tone than the catalogue illustration. The panel is bowed and uncradled. There is a restored split to the upper right (25cm) and across the length of the panel (the length of the panel). The paint surface, which has been recently cleaned and varnished, is in fair condition but quite abraded in the background. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some strengthening to the shadows and to the background.
Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in quite good condition.
