At the time of the 2005 exhibition (see Exhibited below), Marijke C. de Kinkelder confirmed the attribution to Gysels. This lot is also accompanied by a letter (photocopy) dated April 5, 1984, from Dr. Walther Bernt, ascribing the painting to Pieter Gysels.
