Condition

Pigments in actual painting are richer than in the catalogue illustration. The canvas is relined and under a dirty varnish. The paint surface has suffered. There is a vertical canvas seam at right side with old discolored repaint. there are scattered inpaintings to cracquelure visible tot he naked eye. One of two possible old repaired punctures in the sky. Under ultra violet light the old inpaintings and retouches do not fluoresce. However, there are two large areas of repaint in the tree trunks at right side. There is another large repaint at middle right along the seam. There are a few scattered touches in the sky at left side. And a possible repaired puncture above the head of grey horse at right.
