We are grateful to Dr. Luuk Pijl for tentatively suggesting an attribution to Tobias Verhaecht on the basis of photographs, and for pointing out that the figure of Saint John closely relates to the figure in a tuchlein-painting of the same subject by Hans Bol, dated 1564, in the Mauritshuis, The Hague.
