Attributed to Giorgio Pullicino Malta 1779-1851 San Paolo

For the attribution, compare with a watercolour by Giorgio Pullicino of Valetta harbour taken from the same viewpoint, behind the Neptune fountain, for which see N. de Piro, The International Dictionary of Artists who painted Malta, Valetta 1988, p. 167, no. 4. A painting of the same view was offered London, Christie's South Kensington, 18 December 1988, lot 202, as attributed to Giorgio Pullicino. He was the nephew of the better known Maltese view painter Alberto Pullicino (1719 - before 1765).
