Catalogue Note
A copy, probably from the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century, of an original by Jan Davidsz. de Heem today in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (inv. no. 1487, exhibited London, Peter Mitchell, Pick of the bunch from the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, 1993, no. 4). Another copy is in the Herzog Anton Ulrich-Museum, Braunschweig (inv. no. 441) and M. Kraemer Noble (Abraham Mignon, 1973, p. 42, no. B68) records another larger copy (97.5 by 77 cm.) in an English private collection.
