Catalogue Note
This still life was traditionally attributed to Georg Flegel. The various elements in this painting refers to aspects of the still lifes of both Daniel (died 1619) and Isaak Soreau (1604-1644), and Osias Beert (ca. 1580-1623), such as the grapes on a silver platter, which can also be found in a work by Beert, sold Zürich, UTO, 21-24 May 1984, lot 238.
