Catalogue Note
The composition is an adaptation of Ribera's painting of 1626, now in Naples, Capodimonte. Ribera's signature records the Latin names of the country, province and town of his birth -Hispanus (Spain), Valenti (Valencia), Setaben (Jávita)- and the Greek name of the place where the print was made, Partenope (Naples).
