  • sheet of studies: head of the artist, a beggar couple, heads of an old man and old woman (b., holl. 363; h. 90; bb. 32-1)
  • 93 by 95mm; 3 5/8 by 3 5/8 in
  • 42 by 40mm; 1 5/8 by 1 9/16 in
Etching, circa 1632, a good impression of the second (final) state, trimmed circa 3-5mm within the platemark, several thin areas, one just breaking through at centre (with associated restoration), diagonal folds at lower corners (mainly visible verso), other minor defects, with the artist's mother in a cloth headdress, looking down: head only (b., holl. 351; h. 107; bb. 33-f), etching, 1633, second (final) state, with thread margins, occasional pale stains, otherwise in good condition
