Catalogue Note
The number of plates included in this marvellous set varies from album to album, but is generally acknowledged to contain title and as many as 24 plates, although a fine and very early dedication copy sold in these Rooms in 1996 comprised title and only 11 plates.
Amongst those subjects in the present album are several from this early grouping, which are listed as not seen by Constable, Canaletto, (1989), II, pp. 673-674. A complete list of the contents is available on request.
