  • three gabled cottages beside a road (b., holl. 217; h. 246; bb. 50-d)
  • 139 by 201mm; 5 1/2 by 7 7/8 in
Etching, 1650, a good early impression of the third (final) state, printing with burr and plate tone, with the horizontal scratches in the sky, on paper with a Strasbourg Lily watermark (Ash-Fletcher, p. 201 Ea), trimmed circa 22mm into image at top, trimmed just within platemark elsewhere, a short tear at centre of upper edge, brown cellophane tape stain in left edge of sheet, other minor defects (mainly along edges of sheet)
