Catalogue Note
This drawing most probably originates from a small album containing thirty-eight depictions of this subject by Giandomenico, which was formerly in the Bordes collection and was dismembered between 1936 and 1941. James Byam Shaw related the choice of theme to the decoration of the Tiepolo villa at Zianigo and suggested that the series was drawn late in Giandomenico's career.
