bears attribution on bottom of mount: Luca Cangiagi.1591 and apparently on the verso: del S lederma
pen and brown ink and wash over black chalk; made up along the bottom edge

Catalogue Note

This cannot be related to a surviving painting, although the composition is reminiscent of several drawings and a painting of the Adoration of the Shepherds (see Bertina Suida Manning and William Suida, Luca Cambiaso, Milan 1958, figs. 210, 211, 214). According to the Amsterdam exhibition catalogue, there is a copy of this drawing in Stockholm (N.1547).
