Catalogue Note
Although this scene does not connect with any known work by Marco Pino, the figures and tumbling angels are very close to those found in his altarpieces in the church of Santi Severino e Sossio, Naples (see E. Borea, 'Grazia e Furia in Marco Pino', in Paragone, no. 151, July 1962, pp. 24-52, figs. 26-29).
