Catalogue Note
In a number of his decorative gouaches of this type Rademaker copied compositions by Herman Saftleven, but although the landscape in this work is similar in type to those of Saftleven, it does not in fact correspond to any known painting or drawing by that artist, and may therefore be an original invention by Rademaker.
