This painting repeats the composition of a painting formerly in the Casevi collection, Genoa (see L. Mortari, Bernardo Strozzi, Roma, 1995, pp. 124-5, no. 196). The painting may possibly be by one of the Northern painters active in Genoa in the 17th century.
