The engravings include over 300 views of ancient monuments, ruins, castles, abbeys, churches, stately homes and palaces in England and Wales. Overall a good clean copy.
The collation of this work presents considerable problems due to the fact that "in order to render [it] more generally interesting, the several views [were] published in a detached or promiscuous way, just to arrange them as they judge best" (Preface, quoted in RIBA cat.)
