Catalogue Note

presentation copy, inscribed by linnaeus, signed with his initials C.L., to his friend and former pupil Pehr Osbeck. This is one of twelve copies that de Geer, a wealthy amateur entomologist, sent to Linnaeus for the latter to distribute to those whom he thought most worthy. Osbeck had just returned from a lengthy visit to China, to which Linnaeus refers in his five-line presentation.
