Catalogue Note

Riou was at Athens at the time when Stuart and Revett were making their drawings of Grecian antiquities. In this treatise, which is dedicated to Stuart, he attempts "to establish documents for three orders and to make a modulary division of all their component parts for practical uses." He also includes observations on town-planning and designs for public and private buildings.
