Catalogue Note

Steven Dews, known for his meticulously painted racing and marine scenes had his first one-man show in 1976. It was a major success and resulted in Dews securing seventeen commissions. His next exhibition, at the Pantheon Gallery in San Francisco the following year, was also successful. The present work was probably inspired by that 1977 visit to the Bay area.
