Diamond ring, Verdura

The cushion-shaped diamond weighing 10.03 carats, within an openwork gallery decorated with fleur-de-lys motifs and set with small round diamonds, within openwork 'wrapped' shoulders, mounted in platinum, size 5¾, signed Verdura. 

Accompanied by GIA report no. 12364339 stating that the diamond is D color, VVS2 clarity. 

The epitome of chic, Babe Paley was one of Fulco Verdura's muses. He was inspired by her impeccable taste and her manner. He designed in the 1940s a crown setting in yellow gold for her 21.25 carat yellow diamond ring and it is a contemporary variation in platinum of the "Babe Paley" mounting, signed Verdura, in which this cushion-shaped diamond is set.
