Catalogue Note

The William Goldberg Diamond Corporation was founded over 50 years ago. The legendary Bill Goldberg began his career selling tapered baguettes and established himself as a diamond merchant in New York. In 1973, Goldberg became a De Beers sight holder. At this time, he made his transition into the world of important gems and high profile jewelry.
Ensuring unparalleled standards of excellence, William Goldberg has become one of the world's most distinguished diamond jewelry houses. The William Goldberg brand is synonymous with the most renowned gemstones in history, including the extraordinary Premier Rose - the 137 carat 'D' flawless pear-shaped diamond, the 89 carat Guinea Star, and the 5.11 carat Red Shield - the largest red diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America.
William Goldberg is not only celebrated for supplying the great jewelry brands of the world with exquisitely cut diamonds, but also for their own highly distinguished collection of jewels. Considered one of the world's most esteemed diamond cutters, the jewelry of William Goldberg has come to define luxury and elegance.
The company is also known for their patented cut, the Ashoka. Introduced in 1999, the Ashoka takes its name from a 41 carat 'D' flawless diamond discovered in the Golconda region of Southern India. Designers and celebrities have taken notice of this unique cut, which has graced runways and red carpets.
In 2006, the City of New York announced Fifth Avenue and 48th Street would officially be named "William Goldberg Way." The ceremony honoring the legendary William Goldberg took place on Father's Day - Sunday, June 18, 2006.
William's wife Lili, son Saul, daughter Eve, and son-in-law Barry Berg are actively running the family business today.
