Catalogue Note

The Parisian jewellery house of Dusausoy was a small discreet company with a salon in the Boulevard des Capucines. Jean and Justin Dusausoy, together with Madeleine Chazel, exhibited some remarkable jewellery at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1925 and again at the Exposition Coloniale in 1931 and the World Fair in New York in 1939. Dusausoy created Art Deco jewellery of exceptionally high quality and stylish design, with emphasis upon the geometric lines inspired by cubism, but in such limited quantities that their pieces are now rarely seen.
