Catalogue Note

Alexandra Feodrovna was born Princess Charlotte of Prussia and took this Russian Orthodox name when she married Grand Duke Nicholas Pavlovich in 1817 (later Tsar Nicholas I, 1825-1855).  When this was dedicated she had been a widow for five years.
