Maharaja Man Singh of Jodphur (r.1803-1843) is seen here seated on a terrace within a formal palace garden setting surrounded by male courtiers. He is shown celebrating the festival of Holi by spraying colored dye at those around him.  A white pavilion and lush foliage provide the immediate backdrop to the scene, beyond which is a more distant view of a river landscape dotted with temples. The folio is inscribed in Devanagari on the upper middle.
