Catalogue Note

This work was a study for a tapestry, entitled La Paix, commissioned by the French Republic in 1935 to decorate the Palais des Sociétes des Nations, Geneva. 

The work is accompanied by photo-certificates from both the artist and Katia Granoff, as well as correspondence between the artist, Katia Granoff and the original purchaser.
