nickel lever movement stamped with the seal of Geneva, 40 jewels, free-sprung gyromax balance, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, 2-tone charcoal and silvery grey dial with applied dagger numerals, sweep seconds, chronograph with 60-minute and 12-hour monocounter at 6, power reserve indicator at 12, 3 apertures for day, date and month, a small diamond between the lugs at 6, polished circular case, sapphire crystal display back, case, dial and movement signed, with a platinum Patek Philippe deployant clasp.

The current lot embodies a new caliber designed and developed entirely in-house by Patek Philippe. Ref. 5960 is the first automatic chronograph wristwatch ever manufactured by Patek Philippe, making this watch extremely collectable and horologically important. This is the first time this watch has ever been offered at auction.
