Catalogue Note

This watch was granted a 1st prize Chronometer Certificate from the Observatory of Geneva in 1901.  The regulator was J. Cordier. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only split seconds chronograph from Patek Philippe so far known with an Observatory Award. Usually, complicated watches were created in a separate category, this one was not. It is therefore exceptional that it received 1st prize in this competition in the 'chronometers' category.

The retailer Tilden-Thurber, who sold this watch, are sill in business in Providence, U.S.A.

The accompanying Extract from the Patek Philippe archives confirms that this watch was manufactured in 1900 and sold on October 14th, 1901.
