Catalogue Note

The accompanying Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirms that this wristwatch was manufactured in 1936 and sold on November 10th, the same year.

Reference 445 is exceptionally rare and, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first time an example has been offered for sale at auction. In 1936, the year the present lot was manufactured, this model retailed for CHF 435. The rarity of this lot is greatly enhanced by the fact that the watch retains its original certificate bearing the highly respected retailer's name, Oscar Linke. Indeed, the dial of the wristwatch also bears the retailer's name in black enamel printing.

Production of reference 445 began in 1935 and seems to have ceased in the late 1930s. It seems likely that it was replaced by reference 477.
