Catalogue Note

The accompanying Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirms that this wristwatch was manufactured in 1958 and sold on 10th February 1960. This wristwatch was serviced by Patek Philippe in February 2001 and a copy of the invoice is included with the lot.

Reference 2461 was introduced by Patek Philippe in 1950 and production lasted approximately 15 years. Considerably larger than the reference 425 it was brought in to replace, model 2461 remains one of the most classic rectangular wristwatches produced by the company.

The present lot belongs the first series of reference 2461. It is interesting to note that only the first version of the reference featured a two-way split satin finished dial.
