Catalogue Note
The watchmaking company Minerva was founded in 1858 and the trade name was registered in 1887 by C. Robert. An advertisement from 1916 already noted the company as a manufacturer of sports chronograph watches with tachometers and pulsometers. As late as 1973, the company was listed with Mare Nostrum. For further information see: Pritchard, K., Swiss Timepiece Makers 1775-1975, Vol II, 1997, pp. M-75-M-77
The three chronograph wristwatches offered for sale here, each have the classic screw-back cases and round pushers favoured by many collectors. Combined with their unusual dials, the three are excellent examples of complication wristwatches by this rarely seen watchmaker.
