Catalogue Note

The accompanying Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirms that this wristwatch was manufactured in 1955 and sold on August 30th, 1956.

Production of reference 2295 began in 1949 and ceased around 1955. A rare reference, it is the miniature version of the man's 2442 reference 'Eiffel Tower' and less than 20 examples are known to exist in yellow gold.

The bracelet model of this wristwatch is known as a "D" bracelet. An optional extra, the bracelet was advertised in Patek Philippe catalogues of the time. It is stamped both by Patek Philippe and Gay Frères. Gay Frères is arguably the most famous of all wristwatch bracelet manufacturers and is well known for the extremely high quality of their production.

For a similar example, but in pink gold, see: Huber & Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Volume 2, Second Edition, p.48, pl.75a.
