Description

with a outward curved button upholstered padded leather back, with curved leaf carved sides above padded down scrolled arms, one supporting a swivelling lectern above a rectangular padded seat on splayed legs terminating with brass sabots and castors, the sides carved with leaves and centred by a roundel

A similar armchair by Schinkel dating from the reign of King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia (1797-1840) was formerly in Schloss Monbijou, the former summer residence of the kings of Prussia.
