each with a rectangular peach and white mottled marble top, above two long drawers with projecting central stiles, on square tapering legs terminating in toupie feet, the whole inlaid with geometric motifs and rosaces in octagonal reserves

These unusual commodes reflect the sober clean lines of Anglo-Dutch cabinets of the late 18th century with the added Neapolitan twist of the geometric motifs which are a distinctive feature of Neapolitan furniture.
